xx possible multiple ufo sightings in Vancouver
« Thread started on: Mar 29th, 2013, 10:59pm »

While filming a video time-lapse of the sunrise on March 29th 2013 I captured 4 UFOs from 6:25-6:53am. The camera was set to snap every 2 seconds.

What do you think?

Because it is a time compressed speed they do not represent what an actual observer would have seen and felt. By that I mean the fast object speed in the video will look strange to most viewers but may not look so when looked at real time.

I can't say what they are although I have some thoughts but so as not to sound as a skeptic I will keep them to myself. I'd say check out sites and forums of people who make time lapse photography a hobby or job and I'd bet there will be discussion of various objects and how they look played back fast. Perhaps there will be some simple reasonable explanations. A UFO site may not be the best place for that initial research unless you can find discussions about specific similar type videos.

Have you taken this sort of video before?

With the skyline of a city in the background, at this time of day, I'd expect to see a few airplanes show up in half an hour's time. If these are UFOs, where are the airplanes?

By what kind of maneuvers, do you mean turns? Are you forgetting this is one frame every two seconds? And if these are not airplanes, as they appear to be, then where are the airplanes?

I'd also like to know what the shutter speed is. If the camera was set to some automatic program (likely) then the exposure time would be pretty long in that kind of light. Standard aircraft lights would appear as bright streaks if they are steady lights, and the flashers would occasionally appear more than once per frame, most likely as dots.

As far as that goes, it is customary to list the camera type, settings, and so on. General location is a great help to those who might want to study the video in depth.

Great question!
And good news is on the horizon for video analysis which has been much harder to analyze than photo shopped images. It takes common sense probing and looking at the absence of things that should be there and are not, that attests to the power of combined experience with sharp eyes that throws up a red flag what is wrong with this picture? Even if it was perfect!
Again, nice observation!

Remember The guy Doc Farid who I wrote to at Dartmouth to get a cost analysis of the contested drone images? He had written back about 4-5k which when submitted to the "investigators" at the other forum Tommi and company declined, OMF declined..which I found peculiar if there was a serious intent at discovery of any sorts and putting it in hands of a neutral party like Dartmouth, who could close or open up down the hoax question in less than a week, rather than drag it on for months and months. These people are at the cutting edge of this type of analysis.

He has now moved on to Videos, since that very year 2007.

The rumours of my demise have been greatly.... grin
I deleted the SamCannon account Dolf after I recovered my passwords from my compromised email account . I was encountering a lot of turbulence signing on here and there and after several attempts gave up and created that account. I found an old Notepad file on my drive which had lots of my old passwords and was able to get on here. I have retained the name SamCannon as its the name of a great PI and a CEO of a well known Marketing Agency RazorFish.

Since it ruffled so many feathers rather fur, I did what any good marketer would do and that was to milk it for what it was worth before April Fools Day came. I know my friends and peers would easily recognize me , thanks to my inimitable style comprised of stream of consciousness and multi dimensional heuristic perspective, punctuated no less, as our feline mod recently so aptly put it, by sheer power of persuasion.

I promise not to adopt the name of Interocitor , MsMarples, HoneyWest or Midnight Cowboy in future wardrobe changes., and I further promise not to invade Poland nor Romania.
If anyone here is in fear or dread of facts or the truth and parts thereof, then they have much to fear from it. Unrelenting, dispassionately cold facts. Thats what we bring to the table.

SizDah Be-Dar!

Well shoot, it appears I was overdue for a reminder that things ain't always what they seem, what happens when you assume, and such like. Like a good detective yarn, we had technical discombobulations, some recent threats to take out Sam, and some curious timing all working to trick me into thinking there had been a hit. Like that would slow Mike Mulligan down a bit. grin

On topic, I recall that time you found the lab to do the analysis, and the deafening silence that followed. Oh, I guess that's not strictly on topic. I'll try again.

I'm glad to see there are some improved methods for detecting fakery in video, since we seem to be knee deep in fake video and another foot or so of questionable stuff sliding around on top of that.
