Ever read any of the "Left Behind" books ?
Those who were taken, are often described as being out of step with their friends and families. As being addicted to their religion. Some family members act betrayed at their leaving.
Perhaps you have seen or read something about the end of days so to speak and it sparked a dream of the rapture.

I had a dream a couple of nights ago, nothing special or too difficult to understand. Except why my subconscious might have thought of it? or why it should bother me any worse than some of my other less pleasant dreams?

In it, I was standing at the end of a hallway with a windowed exit door in front of me. Passing through that door, I found myself on a sidewalk in a city which might have been anywhere, but the architectural styles of the buildings reminded me of present day London. Outside it was twilight, either sunset or sunrise. Nearby roads joined to form a circus, but it was not Piccadilly. The roads and circus were empty of automobiles. There were some scattered dead bodies laying about, some on the edges of the sidewalks, a few in the middles of the roads. There were some living people scurrying purposefully in and around the buildings. They were making no effort to do anything about the dead. The impression I got was of recent chaos.

Closest to me, a well-dressed man lay dead half on the sidewalk and half in the road. He appeared to be middle-aged, and looked like he should have been healthy except for being dead. The cause of his death was not visible.

The door of a nearby storefront opened, and out of it briefly popped a woman with an unusually nasty and mean demeanor. She was carrying an armful of something, which she nearly threw to the ground next to that dead man. The look on her face was as though she hated him and also hated whatever it was she left next to him.

I approached closer to him, to investigate. He looked might he might have been a member of the protestant clergy, and it was christian bibles and religous objects which she nearly threw at him.

For some reason, at no time did I feel as though I was personally in danger.

I am not especially religous. No christians would call me a christian, they have generally called me (at best) a heretic. I do not believe in all the Revelations stuff. So I do not know where the religous content of this dream came from.

And I have sometimes had apocalyptic end of the world dreams, which still did not bother me as much as this dream did.

It's possible that on some level even on a subconscious level you're having a religious conflict. With the way things are today is easy to gravitate towards apocalyptic dreams. Since the dream bothered you then something in it resonated IE hit home. So it could be that the dream originated from your spirit guides. Regardless it got your attention which was the goal. Dan
