Now that this was deleted... I missed what the context was. Can anyone give a summation for posterity's sake? or is this thread now meaningless?

It must have been too much, would take too much to explain and too much time.

You can remove your own posts and if you started the thread that thread as well leaving something like this where I now have the dubious honor of being listed as the creator of the thread with a rather odd first post.

I leave you alone for a few days and you all run riot. smiley

But seriously, the removal of posts is something that requires attention. It is all very well for someone to decide to pull their posts, but a marker should be left in place of the missing post to signify what has happened. I suggest 'Gone Fishing'.

It is extremely irritating to find out that you have become the author of a thread even though you may not have posted on it until quite late in it's life.

I now need to sort through all the wreckage to find out who is still here and who is not.

I'm starting to think there is something really uncool going on. I happened to notice recently that the post counter was approaching 200,000. Not long after, I'm sure I saw 200,007 or something a lot like it. I just looked, and we're at 198,842. Seems like a lot of missing posts for just a couple of people burning their bridges. sad

We have checked and suggested that after a period of time that the ability to remove posts be taken out of the hands of the members who post them. Unfortunately the way these particular forums are set up it's not possible. So this happens sometimes.
