I suppose it's art and it may have been inspired by the ETHOS. shocked

Kudos to OTF for finding theclosest yet if not the original artwork sans letter in the entrance lobby to the Empire state building restored in 2009
The artest Lief H Neandeross
you will see every component of the lap.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AuLaRRND-w

The NYT review said it resembled the inner working of a watch. the lens thru wich the artist saw the universe..designing jewlery as well based on super novas.

The only Thing Isaac got right was the huge scale of the designs..which would correspond somewhat to panels the restorers were working with..50 artists took part including from montreal Canada..which I am sure OTF own attraction to art was a happy moment ..Its prob why Lev called that year the end as well for the drone saga..
So The LAP lives forever now..in the halls of the Empire state building

The drones ..look at 212 arent from California..they are from NY
THe original lettering was done in 24 Caret Gold..haha

grin

Isaac correctly estimated the number ofwhich people working on the project about 30 or so which would place him very close to the scene of the work being done.. cool

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=113349177

It was an urban legend," says Jeff Greene, president of EverGreene Architectural Arts. "Preservationists and historians knew that it was there, but the general public had forgotten about it. It was covered for 46 years."

Under A Dropped Ceiling, A Trail Of Grime

A team of artists from his studio started their work to re-create the mural — the original was too badly damaged to restore — by removing a dropped ceiling that had hidden it since the early 1960s.

"The World's Fair was coming to New York, [and] people wanted to modernize," Greene says, explaining that now-perplexing decision. "They wanted to improve the light levels."

(Other landlords made similarly head-smacking calls: "At the Chrysler Building," Greene says, "they just stuck downlights in the Edward Trumbull mural.")

Renovators work to reconstruct the lobby's original ceiling mural, hidden since a 1960s overhaul.
Empire State Building

What EverGreene's team found in the Empire State Building's lobby was in even worse shape. The Celestial Mural had been riddled with hundreds of holes and covered in layers of white paint. As they set about researching their reconstruction, the team stripped small ceiling sections, eventually hitting gold leaf.

Luckily, the metallic surface under the paint had held a small electrical charge — enough to attract dirt in patterns that outlined the design, almost like a magnetic drawing board. Restorers were able to make out suns, moons and stars stylized to look like cogs and gears — a celebration of the Machine Age, designed by artist Leif Neandross.

The renovation has updated more than just the ceiling, of course. Under the sterile UV lights in the old white ceiling, the lobby's gray and pink marble corridors used to look a little like cold roast beef. Now, with warmer lighting, they conjure up a champagne cocktail.

"It looks like they're doing just a wonderful job — and I'm not often one who says that," says Lisa Kersavage, a public policy expert for the Municipal Art Society, a century-old organization that fights for intelligent urban planning, design and preservation.

Kersavage points out that construction-related debris accounts for 60 percent of New York City's waste stream. She wants to change a popular misconception: that it's better to demolish old buildings and erect new green ones.

Opening New Windows On Enviro-Friendly Rehab

"About 55 percent of New York City's building stock was built before 1940," Kersavage says. "And what's important about that is that pre-1940s buildings were built before the era of cheap energy and mechanical systems like air conditioning and heating. So they were built to work with the environment better than later buildings."

Take the Empire State Building's windows.

"Windows tend to be the first thing that people want to change when they want to do an energy retrofit," Kersavage says. "And there's so many ways to repair and improve the efficiency of existing windows instead of throwing them into a landfill. So it's really important in terms of the efficiency — but also in terms of the architectural character of a building."

So the Empire State Building Co. decided to refurbish all 6,500 of its thermopane windows.

"We're taking them out, breaking the seals, inserting a mylar sheath," says Anthony Malkin, who heads the company. "And then we're resealing with krypton argon gas and reinstalling them. All of this will be done without the windows ever leaving the building."

Malkin says the windows and other upgrades will result in a nearly 40 percent energy savings. And he's promised to share the new techniques developed during the restoration.

With the majority of New York's greenhouse gas emissions coming from the construction and operation of buildings, that could help other architectural gems ensure themselves a golden future — whatever the color of their lobby ceilings.

Happy Birthday Moksha

I was reading on the Neandross Son by the same name same jupiter FL..we know good things come from florida.like Tommi and Disneyland...He turned out a fishing business..not exactly antigravity or art..but..maybe dopefish will popup someday cheesy
I wonder if they catch Tuna there. ..lol speaking of Tuna I remeber BigFnTuna at DRT..and Openminds..I wonder what happened to him...he used to stickup big time for SPF33..I know he is smiling somewhere out there..cheesy....SPF had this special gift...psychic..a presence of mind..of being there before anybody
Sid had quite an eye back then
Hi spf,

it's also a little rare that you registered at imageshack on April 3, than started to post photos which are drone related late in May. Since you could not have been waiting for drone, I wonder, if you had other stuff there before or if you registered just in case a drone came by.

Another thing, which should be interesting for HPO - hoax related or not. Since he only has a "demon"-page - letterly - I googled for the sitename, seeing, what he did else. Rarely I found this:

listserv.uni-muenster.de...

It's a German university, but the postings are more than rare. Doesn't look drone related, but rather like a collection of spam mails. Thought, he should know, that his site is mentioned there.

Sid was always so ever the helpful..cheesy

Miss them all..

Syd Mead designed his King Kong scene atop there and being the retro phile he is he may have known about the source we see now before the restoration ..copies of which were obtained by evergreen from the Corning Glass museum..
I recall in correspondence with him he stated the allure of the lap designs..its arabesque features..which struck an immediate chord when I read this excerpt from American Heritage..that really does the designs justice and give a real feel for the excitement back then..Depression wide income disparity..movies booming as an escapism valve and served as an equalizer valve between the classes..

http://www.americanheritage.com/content/best-ree-maining-seats?page=show
The famed Roxi theater was another project..

The Kubla Khan of Fiftieth Street summoned Rambusch to talk decorating while the theater was still under construction. The interview was brief. “Harold, I see my Theater like the Inside of a Great Bronze Bowl,” he said, speaking in Roxian Upper Case. “Everything in tones of Antique Gold. Warm. Very, very Rich. Gorgeous.”

Pondering this dictum, Rambusch returned to his studio, and after carefully studying Ahlschlager’s drawings for the interior, asked his associate, Leif Neandross, to make a rendering to submit to Roxy. Their reward was a grunt, a sigh, and a silent embrace. Soon Rambusch artisans were transforming the theater interior into the biggest bronze bowl in Christendom.

Of course, the bronze bowl effect applied only to the burnished metallic color scheme Roxy had specified. Ahlschlager’s breathtaking structure had been inspired, inside and out, by the plateresque—an exuberant grafting of Renaissance details on Gothic forms with fanciful Moorish overtones. The style took its name from the early Spanish plateros —silversmiths whose designs were marked by lavish detail.

It was a little bit of Salamanca on Seventh Avenue.

Rambusch heightened the mood through his use of forests of gold leaf in many tones, deep crimson hangings, and warm amber lights everywhere. Carpeting for the aisles was a problem at first; none of his designs seemed to please Roxy. Finally he was inspired by a Paisley shawl he saw on somebody’s baby grand one day. Roxy was delighted, and miles of Paisley broadloom went rolling up the aisles. The famous Rotunda rug—fifty-eight by forty-one feet, weighing four tons, and described as “the largest oval rug in the world”—was inspired by something else Rambusch might have seen on a baby grand: a microphone of the old style with holes around its face like a telephone dial. Roxy was proud of his radio fame (his “Gang” was the family tree from which Arthur and all the Little Godfreys later sprang), and the Rotunda rug, with a monogrammed microphone wreathed in movie film as its central theme, was just the thing.

Oh Yes..Syd Knew..a millions of dollar renovation requires bids..whether he submitted one or not is irrelevant..everyone in his circle certainly would have known..

which leads us to the rights..
but thats a different topic for another time..
Klat knew too..bless him he tried to tell me several times..but I didn't have the presence of mind to see..

I was remiss in noting it was our very own and elusive EVS Dr Von Stern that caught this remarkable duiscovery

OTF55 was nice to put it up but disappointed me when he said..

The similarities are striking to me. I will admit though that the above are not pictures from the 1930s, they were all taken after the drones case broke in 2007. Maybe someone else can find original pictures or testify that they saw this artwork in the Empire state building before the 1960s when the ceiling was covered up.

which was an incredible thing to state because it was their in black and white by the NYT

The New York Times story:

Art Deco murals restored in 2009 from something covered since 1960s which opened in 1931.
Described as "star constellations and zodiac signs".
Originally designed by Leif H. Neandross ( died at 80 on May 19, 2006), about one year before the drones hit the scene.
Tri-colour (aluminum/gold/white) depiction just like seen on the drone craft side plates which are tri-coloured.

What is their about the word RESTORED he does not understand? its not replacement..not enhancement..not a reinterpretation or upgrade..its a restoration of an original that involved backtracking as I stated to original panels located at Corning Glass Museum.. for Gods sake!
If he , Linda, Douglas, Alienware, Isaac can find it at Palo Alto Labs please let us know, or how how murals jumped off the walls and ceiling and traveled to Roswell 1947 16 years AFTER THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING OPENED...I'm all eyes and ears..

we may get glimpses as well of Deco Art that became the rage of that period. The ESB was not the only building going up..
https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/497929302527206149/

There were parts that could not be restored..certain glass panels..and portions of the cieling..however..everything we see is per strict restoration criteria..consistent with the motifs of planets n stars cogs n wheels..created by Rambusch n Leif Neandross

To minimize any doubt whatsoever..
here are the architects that made a video..explaining the entire process

Anti gravity, hologram projector, free enr=nergy, ( as lomg as you tapped into a utility pole, ) were the stuff the drone was made of...or rather..made into. an artform ..deco art reversed engineered for our pleasure.
The ESB has elevators, up and down, defying gravity too, holographic projectors, like the one Android Jones, used to promote preservation of animals, balance, using the Godess Kali, life death, creation, the recycling of all things..renewal..

https://www.everfest.com/magazine/festival-all-star-android-jones
Through his experiences at Burning Man, he began to dive into the underground group of creators and artists that surrounded him in the Bay Area. He realized quickly that creativity, design and art were powerful currencies that were celebrated by this community. In 2006, Jones attended a visionary art show in San Francisco called Synergenesis. It was at this show he first encountered Luke Brown, Xavi Panneton, Carey Thompson and Alex Grey , and experienced what's known as Visionary Art.

I would not exactly call it visionary ...more like recyling..the raison de'etre of retro art. repurposing..as it were..
I wouldn't even call copyright now that we see the true source as they are all stylized interpretations of an original work..that in no way diluted the value of the original long since abandoned therfeore not actionable law.. behind sheetrock panels in the 50s..they were classifiable as junk...Indeed many of my colleagues..used just that word..J U N K.
But I knew better..They could all come foward now..but we know they would all be liars..feigning originality..inspiration..but really..not an iota of original genius..like Neandross and his patron boss..So I think they may actually stay out of this altogether..rather than make a collective admission this was just another contract. Only the italians and Aussies have been able to get away with the art immersion concept when giving the public a good dunking.
I am wondering How LMH will take all of this..probably in stride..because she did get some free mileage out of it..enough that one might think she broke the rule for unity, ie perpetual motion...so may be it is real!.. grin

Of the arrtists I corresponded with..the most honest as he could be given the circumstances of our little internet cropcircle was Syd Mead..without sayins so directly.. ..his description was not of a ufo..but a piece of art work..
