xx The Varginha Incident
« Thread started on: Dec 9th, 2004, 8:26pm »

On the morning of January 20 between seven and eight a.m., the Varginha Fire Department's phone rang. It was a citizen reporting that a strange creature had been seen in an area of Varginha known as Jardim Andere. A short time later, there was another call, reporting the same thing. Then another, and another. Men of the fire department, which in Brazil is part of the military, were sent out, and by following directions from civilians, they were able to reach the area.

In a forested area, they found a creature with three large protrusions on its head, red eyes, long thin arms, and short legs with big feet. The only noise that it made was a sort of bee-like buzzing. They captured it easily with a net, since it seemed to be in a dazed condition. The creature was removed from the area at about 10:30 in the morning.

Later that day, three girls: Lilliane Fatima, Valquira Fatima, and Andrade Xavier, were taking a short cut home from work when they stumbled upon a second creature fitting almost the identical description as the first, also in the area known as Jardim Andere. They ran away home when it looked at them and told their mother, Luiza, who went back and found tracks in the mud and a strong smell of ammonia in the air at the spot.

There are further stories of more of these same creatures, as many as seven, being captured that same day. At least one was said to have been taken first to the regional hospital, and then to Humanitas Hospital. One of the creatures is supposed to have died, and was taken by military convoy to the University of Campinas, where an autopsy was performed. Another story says that two of the creatures were taken to the University of Sao Paulo. A videotape of the creatures is also said to be in existence.

Less than a month after the incident, 23 year-old military policeman Marco Eli Chereze, who supposedly was involved in the capture, died from a multiple infection without an apparent cause. Some have said he was infected by contact with the creature.

Two of the young girls who discovered one of the creatures later began asking for money for interviews, but in light of all the publicity and intrusions into their lives by the media, this is not unusual.
Military and fire department personnel deny that they captured any such creatures, although there were some unusual activities, such as troop movements, that took place on that day.

Hospital personnel at the regional hospital and at Humanitas Hospital also deny (on the record) that any such events took place.

It has been rumored that the autopsy on the creature was done by a legist physician (forensic pathologist?) named Badan Palhares. He has officially denied any participation in such an activity, but is also reported to have said that he would have more to say about it at some future time.

With the exception of the accounts by the three young girls, all of the Varginha evidence is either second-hand, or is from military and hospital employees who will only speak anonymously to Brazilian ufologists, notably Vitorio Pacaccini.

[color=Purple]A famous sighting, this time unususally involving the occupants of craft reported in the area on that day. Just shows these guys can make mistakes too. Must've been a problem with their craft, forcing them to land, or crash. They appeared to be dazed or in pain, which would suggest a problem with breathing our atmosphere. Ranked next to Roswell and Rendlesham in importance i think.

Roswell Now Varginha!
« Thread started on: Nov 5th, 2002, 8:38pm »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you said to somebody VARGINHA!, they would probabaly think that you were being crude. In fact it is a city in Brazil. It is actually pronounced Vaarzheena. The main difference between Rosell and Vaarzheena, is that Roswell has a 25 year head start. The main sighting took place on the 20th January,1996, and despite the years, it still remains virtually unheard of. Weeks before the main incident, there had been hundreds of ufo sightings across Vaarzheeda. At about 1.00am on the morning of Saturday 20th of January, a farmer by the name of Eurico de Freitas was woken by the frantic baying of his horses and his dogs continually barking. When he went outside he saw a "large, grey coloured cigar-shaped object" moving slowly and silently across a field, barley 15ft of the ground. He later said it looked like a submarine. His report exactly matched another sighting 7 days earlier. Later that same morning, a call was received by the local firestaion, asking them to come and capture a strange creature that had been cornered in a local park. As the firefighters approached, they came across a "3 and a 1/2ft tall biped", that was injured and clearly in distress. It had blood red eyes and oily brown skin, with 3 little humps on its head. The firefighters secured the creature and took it to "The School of Sergeant at Arms". Brazillian troops then moved into the park and sealed off the area. At 3.30pm the same day, 3 young girls were on there way home, when they noticed another creature, this time, crouched against the wall. Terrified, thinking they had seen the Devil, they ran home and told their parents. When they returned, the creature, said one witness , had fled when a group of children started throwing stones and bricks at it. Eventually the Military came and found and took custody of the second creature, that seemed to be hidding. This creature was taken to the Humanitus Hospital, not less than 2 miles from where it was found. The injured creature, which had died from its injurys, was taken to the same Hospital on Monday the 22nd of January. At least 15 Hospital Staff saw the creature as it was wrapped in plastic sheeting and put in a crate. Weeks after the incident, a soldier who helped in the capture of the creatures, died of a very rare form of Pneumonia, his name was Marco Eli Cherese. His family was told that no autopsy would be necessary and ordered his body to be buried Immediatly. However his medical records did show that his body did contain 8% of "Unknown Toxic Substances". It is alleged that the creatures were taken to an underground laboratory, owned by the brazillian airforce, where an autopsy was done on the dead creature. No one knows what happend to the live creature. Major Cazla, of the brazillian Armed Forces agreed to give an interveiw on film, this is the statement he made: "The appearance of an extraterrestrial did not take place, because it has never been proven officially. What happend was that on the 20th of January 1996, there were violent storms in Vaarzheena. We were having a ceromony.....we also had to sens some trucks for maitenence while they were still under guarantee.. so we sent 2 trucks into Vaarzheenafor this to happen. At the Hospital in Vaarzheena, there was an expectant DWARF couple, having their unborn baby scanned. ( this was the actual statement given to people who asked what the creatures were, they saw at the hospital. I simply cannot beleive this was the official statement). Officals said this was the CONFUSSION. It is obvious that the brazillians are not as good as covering-up storys as that of the U.S or U.K.

Yeh cheers. I've heard accounts of people saying they saw a craft resembling a submarine. I think, but i may be wrong about this, there's actually footage of a small craft relating to this incident, or at least in the Varginha area. It's night-time footage, and you can see this object swooping at low altitude, past people's houses. It looked like it was in some sort of trouble. One person describes how it went passed his window! It was on a program called 'Beyond The Truth'.
