xx The (6+24)th anniversary
« Thread started on: Jun 14th, 2017, 6:05pm »

What is that? That's truly a weird way to mean 30th anniversary.

Not really. It comes handy when there is no further reference to what event is the anniversary relating to.

In order to make a good guess, any near intelligent being in the Milky Way would translate that 6 and 24 into time units available in his world. In the case of earthlings, they should figure out that the (6+24)th anniversary applies to an event that took place 30 years ago on the 6th month and(+) the 24th day.

Here is an example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Arnold

Kenneth Arnold saw very strange flying objects on 6/24/1947. It follows that if the objects were intelligently manipulated by non-human intelligence and that intelligence saw Kenneth, then the encounter between the ET's and earthlings would be a historical event for the alien guys. Because they are aliens, their way of selecting a special anniversary may not follow our customs where, for example, there is no meaningful difference between let's say the 10th anniversary and the 20th anniversary. We just go by our decimal system and that's good enough.

Not so for the ET's though. They skipped the 10th and the 20th anniversary of the historical encounter with Kenneth Arnold, but they decided to observe the 30th anniversary. That's because they saw Kenneth inside his ancient flying machine on 6/24 earth time and 6+24=30. That anniversary took place in the year of 1977. (1947+30=1977).

And so the ET's decided to abduct a few earthlings as advisers and the question was: What would be the best way to commemorate the historical event, so the earthlings would be also involved?

One of the abducted earthlings suggested to the ET's to make a movie about an encounter between space guys and earthlings - something that the earth folks would really like.

The ET's gave it the go-ahead and that's how the 1977 movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind came about - with the help of telepathy.

Wait a minute! Why those three guys, who got abducted to advice the ET's, hadn't approached the UFO researchers to share their experience? Well, they never came back - one would have to be a complete idiot to do so. Or do you think that an ordinary person from the 14th century whom we would abduct couldn't wait to get back to his lovely dark-aged world?

Why would they use our calendar anniversary? Wouldn't they use an anniversary according to their calendar?

Why would they commemorate it at all?

This is assuming the objects he spotted really were extraterrestial craft, which I doubt.

The reason is simple: if you want to send a letter to someone who doesn't speak your language, you need to adjust to the situation.

To initiate a set of arguments supplying a heuristic proof that what Arnold saw couldn't be some atmospheric phenomenon or that he made the story up.

The film Close Encounters of the Third Kind was reminded to the earthlings in rather explicit way once more. This time it was a scientist who uncovered the link between a strange activity and the film.

Here is a puzzle that exists within the domain of the (6+24)th anniversary of Kenneth Arnold sighting: A person turned (12+18) years of age. In other words, he turned 30. Who was likely the person and what he or she was doing at that time of his birthday?

If an alien abductee solves the puzzle, he can stay; but the failure to solve usually means that the ET's stick a long needle up his ass and send him back to the earth.
