It was back in 1986 when I was asked by the ETH's (extrarerrestrial humans) to design a sky intro (UFO sighting) to a funeral speech directed toward the EBO's (earth-based observers). That was strange, because I was already re-assigned to the crop circle test team at that time.

One of the folks whom the ETH's had tested and who had performed fairly well, J. Allen Hynek, passed away in 1986 and so the ETH's, with the permission of the ET's, decided to honor him.

When I looked at the name string JALLENHYNEK, I realized that I would probably have to use an acronym. So I checked the database and got lucky. This UFO sighting would be reliable one, witnessed by airline pilots, because the first three letters of Hynek's name string JALLENHYNEK is a short for Japan Airlines.

The next step was designing the date of the "UFO funeral speech," so the EBO's would know for sure who was being eulogized. See, the ETH's picked J. Allen Hynek, as their object of study of Homo sapiens, from other equally qualifying candidates, because of his middle name ALLEN. If you make a slight adjustment to the second double L by cutting off the shorter horizontal line, you get a word that is not only in the dictionary, but has a special connotation:

A L L E N ---- (snip) ----> A L I E N

So I decided on a similar, slight modification of the acronym UFO. I simply replaced letter O by number 0.

U F O --- (punch, punch) ----> U F 0

In the next step, I made U and F follow suit and turned the letters into numbers by using the alphabetical order.

U = 21
F = 6
0 = 0

Then I used the three numbers as time(calendar) data: 21 days, 6 months, 0 years to set up the time of the UFO/UF0 sighting. The date when J. Allen Hynek's died was 27. April, 1986. Moving the time ahead by 21 days, 6 month, 0 years yielded

27. April 1986 + 21 days, 6 months, 0 years = 17. November 1986.

Japan Air Lines flight 1628 was a UFO incident that occurred on November 17, 1986 involving a Japanese Boeing 747 cargo aircraft.

I wanted the flight number be exactly 2160 - the same as the difference between the day J. Allen Hynek passed away and the date the Japanese pilots encounter the "funeral UFO," to make the logical knot as tight as possible, thereby making mockery out of the debunkers and their counterparts, the UFO evangelists, who are proven to be mentally blind as hell, but it conflicted with the intentions of the ETH's. I was allowed, though, to align the date of the sighting with the time the pilots spotted the two strange objects for the first time, by using two established date formats: day/month and month/day.

November 17 = 17. November, or 11/17 = 17/11

I just changed day into hours and month into minutes.

November 17 = 17:11

Japan Air Lines flight 1628 was a UFO incident that occurred on November 17, 1986 involving a Japanese Boeing 747 cargo aircraft. The aircraft was en route from Paris to Narita International Airport, near Tokyo, with a cargo of Beaujolais wine.On the Reykjavík to Anchorage section of the flight, at 17:11 over eastern Alaska, the crew first witnessed two unidentified objects to their left.

To my surprise, the ETH's, who designed the rest to the last itty-bitty detail, decided that the initial phase of the sighting would involve two objects to reinforce the two date formats month/day and day/month. But the EBO's don't need such a heavy clue. Hmm. It felt as if the ETH's wanted to bring the uninvited to the party...

Now I had never heard of this story either, but after checking it out, this JAL 1628 incident seems like a substantial mystery. Is anyone familiar with this story? What the hell did Captain Terauchi and his crew come across that day??
