« Thread started on: Apr 17th, 2012, 09:43am »

Following on from a previous thread, regarding my VERY frightening experience with a "Home Made Ouija Board", I promised to post further info regarding further personal experiences over the years. As per comments made on the previous thread by both Luvey & Icepick, I now think it more likely than not, that I am in fact Sensitive/Receptive, probably not to such a high degree as some, but certainly enough to be able to "pick up" on certain things. Attached, is a link to my account of the sighting of an "English Civil War Cavalier", back in 1979. I had forgot that this had been posted on the Blog of the "West Midlands Ghost Club", of which I was a Forum Member, until the forum was closed down, for reasons best known to the sites Administrators. I hope you find it of some interest ; -

As many experiences of this nature I've had, I can only claim a few rare experiences which compare to the 'color' similar stories from the old world have. Much to be said for the depth of additional history.

Obviously England & the UK in general, has such a huge depth of Tracable/Documented History, that basically just about everywhere you tread tends to have some kind of "Story" or "Local Legend" attached to it.

Here`s another quick account of one of my past Experiences, preceded by a bit of background of how my life was at the time, so that you can form your own opinions !!. I only found out earlier today, that this account had again been published without my knowledge, on a Local History Forum back in 2009, further to me originally posting it, once again on the Forum of the West Midlands Ghost Club !!. I have copied and pasted it it directly as I have found it today ; -

In late 1989, I was none to well "Balanced", having been through a lot of "Personal Strife" in the preceeding years. I basically lived in Nightclubs, got very little sleep, and attempted to Drink myself to Death whenever I saw anything which resembled Alcohol. I also tended to come up with all sorts of "Brilliant" Ideas, and go off on all kinds of strange "Tangents" at the drop of a hat. Anyway, on this particular occasion, I decided that like one of my best Pals who was a D.J at Patrick`s Nightclub in Wednesbury, I would "Resurrect" my own D.J Career from years gone by, and go back on the road again. So, I went to T.R Music in Walsall, and bought a Full Set Up, which, (for anyone who is interested), included a "Haze" (very suitable !), Double Deck/DJ Console/Mixer etc, with built in 500 Watt Amp, a Mc Gregor 1000 Watt Slave Amp, Base Bins, Mids and Tops, as well as lights, leads, etc, etc. I took all of this new D.J Gear back to my friends pub in Wednesbury, which was the "White Horse Hotel", on the corner of Lower High Street and Holloway Bank. This Pub was as its name suggests a former early 19th Century Hotel, very "Grand", and extremely large, with lots of rooms, many of which were closed off to the public and unused. I set the Gear up in an Upstairs Function Room and tried it out. MEGA - It sounded Ace, and shook the crap out of the place !!. After a while, I decided to pack up. I intended to switch everything off, and "Sort it out" later when I returned that Evening. I walked across the room to where the Extension Lead was plugged in to the Mains, and all I could hear was a slight "Hiss" from the Speakers, and then, as clear as Crystal through the Speakers came - "Hello", followed by loud "Giggling". The voice was that of a Young Girl. Well, I was sort of rooted to the spot for a second or two, then lets just say I VERY rapidly pulled out the Plug from the Mains, and Disappeared down the stairs and out of the place a bit quick !!. When I returned that night, I explained to my Landlord Pal what had happened, and surprisingly he just nodded ruefully, and said - "It looks as if you have heard our Ghost". He went on to tell me that around the 1920`s, a young Girl, possibly the Daughter of the Landlord at the time, had literally Run or Jumped out of an upstairs Floor to Ceiling Window at the front of the Pub/Hotel, and fallen to her Death on the Footpath below. He took me outside, and pointed out the Four or so full length upstairs windows, which had Bars from top to bottom, apparently as a consequence of this event, and to stop it happening again. He said that he and his Family had experienced numerous strange Sightings, Sounds, etc of a little girl in Old Fashioned Dress, Playing and running around upstairs, but had never mentioned it to anyone else, in case they took the mickey. I was a little "Spooked" by then, and would not return upstairs to collect my Disco Gear until he could come with me and help me !!. Suffice to say, that although I stayed overnight at the Pub on a few different occasions after this, I never went near that particular room again, and was never on my own unless absolutely necessary, and then only for as short a time as possible !!. Sadly, the Pub/Hotel was closed around 1993/94, and subsequently Demolished. It is now part of the grounds of "Purity Pops", which is a soft drinks distribution company. I often wonder what happened to this now Homeless little "Spirit" if I go past there.

It is the same old story time after time, fear. Have you ever stopped and asked your self what you’re afraid of. Just think about it, here you are and no doubt can look after your self yet you are afraid of a girl. Doesn’t seem so scary when you think about it like that. I personally put it down to the indoctrination by the church over the years with the hell fire scenario that they created to keep you chained to the church. Ask your self would you be afraid of this girl if she was alive , I doubt it more likely you would be chatting her up lol, yet you are afraid of her spirit. Fear to me is a defense from the cave man days when it kept you alert to danger and still does yet where is the danger in something we all will become as it is not avoidable.

That`s a very true statement in the fear factor, something we don`t often get confronted with and when it does appear in whatever shape or form etc it`s the fight or flight scenario.
More often and not it`s the flight among most people I think, only recently my eldest daughter who is married with two young children.
She moved into a bungalow with her husband about four five years ago, it`s a recent building built in the very early 60s. A two bedroom since the loft has been made into another bedroom.
The front downstairs is the front bedroom, both my grandson and grand daughter sleep there, from the very first time I went in there other than all the other rooms this one felt cold.
In that I mean a chilly effect, okay no draughts or vents at work here but something didn`t feel right about it, I never ever said anything about it.
Only last year my daughter told both my wife and I she feels the room is cold, well I thought someone else feels it, and her husband says the same. I know nothing about the history of the bungalow but rather be afraid of it I just accept it for what it is.
There is a definate feel to the room unlike the rest, it`s oddly chilly even in warm weather, I just wonder what if anything could be the cause? PowerKnight wink

From my own experience PK of things that go bump in the night coldness seems part and parcel. We have even had it in our bed lol, you feel a cold spot of air that will not heat up but the best I have ever found was at a previous address. About one meter directly in front of the fire in the living room was a pillar of cold air that was there 24/7. If it was between you and the fire then you felt no heat from the fire, but if you walked around it you could feel how hot the other side was and if you put your hand or whole self in the pillar it was icy cold. Had a heck of a lot of activity in that house from the TV and video switching on even though it was not plugged in to doors slamming in your face.

Temp can also be a direct result of personal perception at the time as well. While I have experienced benevolent, friendly presences in my life, they still never failed to unnerve initially. This can chill temporarily. Anybody who claims a presence does not scare them, at least at first, is full of it. This is simply a typical human reaction to the unknown.

A permanent chill in a particular place which never moves may very possibly be an imprint of a past event. Nothing much to fear there. Doors slamming on the other hand, is another case entirely. In the event I started to relay to Luvey, I contacted something very solid with a long stick, which leads me to say that the assertion these things cannot harm you is dubious.

Being a very perceptive individual with people and places this is the first time I have ever felt a constant coldness within this room.
Every single time I enter it and I couldn`t believe my daughter and son in law felt exactly the same without myself ever mentioned the fact.
There is a strange feeling to it, maybe I could do a little research and find any information that could shed some clues on it if anything, PowerKnight wink

A new presence of that nature presents an anomaly. Now you need to determine if it really is this type of phenomenon. If so, you need to figure out how the portal was opened, as there could be ............. undesirable issues as a direct result. In other words, make sure that it is closed.

Way back in 1961 I was on guard in Windsor Castle. My post was on the battlements looking out towards Eton College and the runway lights of Heathrow airport. Time
0400hrs to 0600hrs.
On that post you are virtually locked in by 18 foot iron gates. It was July and a warm and pleasant day was in prospect. The only key to those gates was held by the officer of the guard.
Approx 0515 as I was wathching the landing lights of aicraft at the airport I sensed, rather than heard, someone walking toward me from my left. No-one would be watching me at that hour so I turned to my left.
A scots guardsman was walking toward me in full dress including bearskin.
My first thought was "how the hell did he get in". My next thought was well I'd better do the right thing and challenge him.
Coming to attention I adopted the correct position and shouted "Halt who goes there"
There was no reply and as he was getting quite close I became a touch angry. I shouted again and added "if you don't stand perfectly still I'll run this bayonet right through you".
He simply disappeared!
It was then that I began to feel scared.
I rang my emergency bell in my sentry box and turned the guard out. Naturally no-one was amused.
The whole of Windsor and Eton were sealed off by the police in case there was a threat to the Queen.
I was then relieved of duty and banged up in a cell in the Guardroom while enquires were made.
I was under close arrest for three days after which I was released and ordered in no uncertain terms NEVER
to discuss what I 'thought' I had seen under penalty of a District Court Martial.
Many months later I found out that 130 years previously
A Scots Guardsman had been found at the bottom of those battlements very dead with his hair turned completely white.
I've done guard duty at Buck, Jimmies and the Tower of London for years and never seen anything like I did at Windsor.

That ........... is spooky Pete. And you were stuck with duty to perform. Bummer.

The only experience I ever had that vivid was over 40 years ago, in the heart of the Appalachain Mountains. I've already alluded to it in this thread, but haven't told the entire story yet because the experience still gives me chills just to think about it.

It was a moonlit, but very foggy night in late winter at a place we called Low Water Bridge, down south of the Jenkins Mountain. In case nobody knows, a low water bridge is exactly what the name states. When water is low, you have a bridge. When it is high, you don't. This one was a concrete slab one lane wide, poured over the top of a row of culverts across the river. No railings, no curb, just a slab. There was an old legend about a ghost there, but I had never seen it. This being the 1960s, it was considered great fun to go down there, get loaded, and watch for the ghost.

On the night in question, I had parked on the north end of the bridge, and we got out to stretch after a bit. A shape promptly seemed to drift down the river, and was starting to get out at the end of the bridge. This freaked me out, as it was now between us and the van, so I grabbed a very long branch that had broken out of a tree and swung.

Imagine my shock when I contacted something very solid. It promptly went straight to the top of the bridge, and thankfully, moved in the other direction. This next point is dubious, because one could nearly drink this fog, but it did not seem to reach the other side. It just vanished.

I fired up that old Dodge van, and we raced down that gravel road so fast it seemed like the wheels rarely touched the road. The girl I was with was so terrified she heaved out the window for a mile or more, then latched onto me like a mushroom growing off a tree, and refused to leave that spot for about two days. The only time she would release was when she went to the bathroom, and she made those trips very quick. Afterwards, she would never go near another place like that with me again.

Never saw anything more than a shape, but it never made a sound, and was quite solid. And now I'll probably have dreams about the incident tonight, like I have many times. I haven't a clue what it was, but I know what things it was not.

Two more very ineresting accounts, you know these events are a lot more common than what the majority might think. There is something going on around us what exactly no one knows for sure but they do happen quite frequently in the public at large.
Two very freaky accounts, I`d have probably got spooked as well! PowerKnight wink

I have yet to sense a presence that did not freak me out PK. Every single time, even the benevolent presence will make your hair stand on end at first. And everybody is sensitive to this type of phenomena. The difference between people lies in their willingness to accept it.
