Perhaps we can address religions another time, but I see where you are going with this...

Very similar to the original Star Trek, they had something known as the Prime Directive?

The Prime Directive dictates that there can be no interference with the internal development of alien civilizations.

I find the similarities....Most Fascinating....

Advanced technology does not automatically mean advanced morals or peaceful intent.
It simply does not make sense to believe this.
A truly advanced civilization, as many hope to see here, would have no real reason to leave their perfect and balanced home to go wander the cosmos.
The belief in spirits has founded more religions than any alien race. The wind, sun, and the plants and animals around us have served as the basis of a good many religious sects. There has never been a need for an alien race to start such beliefs.
I recently read a bit of a story about a scientist that spent his life trying to understand the human genome.
There, among the bits of DNA, he found a series of strands that formed a pattern, a pattern he finally broke and was able to read a message in.
The message said " When you can read this the experiment is almost finished."
This left him with a question. "What next?" and what should he do? Should he tell the world or keep silent to avoid causing a panic.

This is a interesting and familiar story.
Some time in the future Humans will have to leave Earth to exist in it, meaning the future, cos our Sun will run out of fuel and grow beyond, perfect and balanced.

What makes sense for Man and his way of control and destruction, might seem as primitive to the advanced, as us observing what we have done to each other since the beginning.

The scientist who found what he did, would have more than a burden of creating chaos, how many would believe what he said, how many would call him crazy, this type of data has always been looked at by the masses as LUNACY, only after many of years to be proven "TRUE".

I am not a fan of present day organized religion, even though I enjoy reading all the Ancient TEXTS, and Mythology of the Archetypes who fell to Earth. lipsrsealed

PS
I think it would be wise to consider that there may be evil advanced types, cos I see them all the time, in my country they are in DC.
