« Thread started on: Aug 14th, 2015, 12:15pm »

Thought I may open a space to deposit odd thoughts. maybe it won't get much use, depends upon what is happening.

Treat it pretty much as you do with Crystal's thread.

If you find some old bit of info that becomes relevant, Just 'pop' it from the stack using the post number if it helps others to find it. After a while the old bits will gradually 'push' themselves back on the stack until the next time they come in useful.

So there I was this afternoon after finishing the wife's bird garden. Sat at the outside table enjoying a cool glass of Kia Ora and watching the flowers grow.

Then I got to wondering. 'some people think that what we call reality is in fact an illusion'.

This thought led on to wondering how, if true, it would work.

Perhaps we (our minds) are the analog of computer terminals connected to a reality that we can liken unto The Cloud.
So all the actual intelligence is floating around 'out there' somewhere. And our actions (physical) are dictated by what ever is running the Cloud application. We are part of the Cloud.

Well, it was a nice afternoon and I didn't want to do any serious thinking.

Mornin' all

I don't know if I like this or not.

Telegraph

Scientists have found a formula for melt-resistant ice cream. What next?

6:01AM BST 31 Aug 2015

One of Margaret Thatcher’s early claims to fame was that, as a trained chemist, she was part of a food industry research team working on a method to whip extra air into ice cream. Soft scoop was born, and we no longer had to take the pudding from the freezer an hour before we needed it. Imagine if she had invented an ice cream that does not melt in the sun. Would her resultant fame have lost her to politics?

Now scientists have developed a recipe for a frozen dessert that binds together the air, fat and water to make it more resistant to melting. We are promised this Great Leap Forward in three years’ time. Yet there is a very simple way of making sure an ice cream lasts a long time on a summer’s day: serve it in Britain in August. There is little chance of it melting.

Funny how you notice things.

I was parking my car down one of the town's side streets prior to going for an espresso when I noticed the the local National Ukrainian Association of Great Britain (The Ukrainian Club) has started flying a little Ukrainian flag above its door.

This organisation has been in our town for as long as I can remember. And never before did it do this.

A sign of the times ?

When you were watching the flowers grow, do you think they felt your thinking?

If so what do think they felt after you left?

My colleagues at Zero Hedge say Keep Stackin HAL
Hal the melting pot has fragmented..there is not a nationality or ethnic group that does not feel threatened by [insert something here]..and rally round a flag..it is indeed a sign of the times..the tools that make that so are the media in turn a tool of the state..peoples finding common ground are a clear threat it seems..one might think existential..as long as things stay dividided and chaotic..that is their meal ticket.

Is it possible, it is the other way around?
Do they know what you are thinking?
If so, could it be cos they told you what to think?
How would one know?

MOKSHA,

...When you were watching the flowers grow, do you think they felt your thinking?

If so what do think they felt after you left?
..

Good questions.

There was an experiment a long time age where some tomato plants were wired up to record changes in their physiology. Maybe that should be pathology.

A group of people were instructed to go to the plants (one at a time) and behave in a very threatening way to them. Acting as if they were going to destroy the plants.
The thing is, only one student was actually going to do this after his raging.

It appears that the plants only reacted when this person walked up to them.

So, who knows ?

I have no way of knowing if they were aware of me or not. And I was only watching them grow, not trying to engage them in philosophical discussion.
I limit my conversation with them to a courteous 'Good Morning; plants'. After all, it would be bad manners not to greet them in the morning.

Sys,

..peoples finding common ground are a clear threat it seems..

If the common ground takes on the form of isil etc then, yes, it is a clear and present danger.

Would you not agree ?

MOKSHA,

Just watched you item by Rupert Sheldrake.

Very interesting.

I think that we have touched upon some of the dogmas in the various threads. Particularly numbers 7,8 and 9.
