Gort,

..I'm still looking for the cities, lakes, and millions of people strolling about..

They are probably hiding in the forests down by the lakes. wink

Gort,

You are a tech guy.

I'm running XP here and want to change my keyboard from (I think) English American to English UK. as I can't get the hash sign to show. I get a backslash when I press the hash key.
This means I can't use PICaxe as it requires the hash in it's programming.

Do you know how to make the change ?

I thought it would be via 'settings', but can't find it.

Anyone else feel free to chime in here.

It’s been a while since I used XP. I currently use 10. Microsoft no longer supports XP. I’d suggest an upgrade to 10. There is an option to upgrade with all your current settings and programs. I’m not really sure how to solve your problem. I know when you install you get an opportunity to change your keyboard. When you install 10 it automatically recognizes your keyboard. Maybe the attached download would help? I have a Logitech mouse and keyboard and they have a program called set point to change keyboard functions and mouse operations. Maybe you can download that as well even if your keyboard is not Logitech?

Good luck and I still have a bottle of moon water in the fridge. Thinking maybe I could sell it on eBay grin

Look at http://www.randyrants.com/category/sharpkeys/

I use it to remap several keys. I know some Logitech keyboard software utility programs have remap capability. I have a basic wired USB Logitech K120 keyboard and the Sharpkeys program works fine on Windows 10 and I've used it on Windows 7. It is suppose to work on XP. Read the FAQ at the link above.

Gort, Ed,

Thanks for the links. I'll look into them.

If all else fails maybe I can use my XP CD to do a repair and that may allow me to change the setting.

I want to stay with XP as, although it is indeed obsolete, it does everything I need.
I don't like the idea of forever chasing Microsoft upgrades,

Sadly my brain is getting too old for Linux, tho' I have it installed and occasionally use it to get here.
