I took this photo awhile ago. People says it must be lens flare. I am really familiar with this lens, and for there to be any lens flare, whatever is causing the lens flare needs to also be in the photo. In this particular photo, the lens flare would be upside down, on the bottom right hand corner, and be a bright cyan. But there is nothing there to indicate lens flare. What is also interesting, is that although it was a four second shot, and perhaps darkly dressed person could have walked past and swung a bring object such as a cigarette, the light path is an exact 90 degrees, and seems to coincide with a star, or something star-shaped in the sky. All the photo specifications are included on this flickr page, and you can click on the image to enlarge.
Yes, the image has been edited, from jpg to raw, but hardly anything done at all. I still have the NEF somewhere, if anyone thinks its worth seeing.

I would prefer not to post directly on here, as its my art.

Interesting image. I agree it's not flare or some passerby. Be careful about the 90 degrees sharp turn. You are looking at 3D space and it could be much different due to actual path and viewing angle. My best advice would be to pursue an answer on astronomy forums. There are thousands of amateur and professional sky watchers out there.

Here's perhaps a starting point:

Nice work BTW. smiley

Thank you so much. It would be nice if it was something unusual, because you dont normally see something unusual in a nicer image.
