When a ufologists gets too close to the truth , they die.

I remember UFO Magazine Graham Birdsall died in 2003 from a sudden brain bleed just after he claimed in his magazine he thought he was near the truth about UFOs.

..I remember UFO Magazine Graham Birdsall died in 2003 from a sudden brain bleed just after he claimed in his magazine he thought he was near the truth about UFOs...

Graham's death, of a brain hemorrhage, wasn't unusual. Many people die this way. My own mother in law was one example.

....Graham Birdsall died from a brain haemorrhage on September 19, 2003. He left behind his wife Christine, daughters Helen and Louise, granddaughter Katy, brother Mark and son-in-law Russel.[3] [4] The editor's job was taken over for a few months by Graham's son-in-law Russel Callaghan, but UFO Magazine eventually ceased publication in March 2004.[1]....

By chance I found a book store that sold Graham's UFO Magazine from Leeds, UK.

I really liked his magazine when he was alive.

I also live in the southern U.S. which is the "stroke belt"

I guess from eating too much fried chicken, fried catfish, corn grits, and Bar-B-Que pork.

Nyx,

Back in the early eighties I was part of YUFOS and knew Graham Birdsall and his brother Mark. These were the days when Phil Mantle, Rod Haworth, myself and others used to meet in Graham's house in Leeds or Mark's flat.
At the time the magazine was a photo copy compilation. The glossy 'Quest' came later.
David Clark and Andy Roberts of Magonia . along with Jenny Randle were also part of the same scene at that time.

Some faded away, others moved on to more public things.

I still have my copies of the magazine, to which I contributed, along with my copy of 'The Hessdalen Report' that came from Phil mantle's trip to Norway.

Well INT21 (Hal),

If you wanted to impress me about the people you know or knew like Birdsall, Jenny Randle, etc., you really "blew me away".

I like reading Jenny's books, because they were easy to read.

I am just an old country boy, but in my younger days things happened to me I can not explain, and I am looking for answers.

Nyx,

not trying to impress.
The article reminded me of my early days with UFOS and the times spent gumshoeing around taking reports from people who had seen something unusual.

Guess I was reminiscing.

I haven't had contact with any of the people I mentioned for many years. Some are still in the UFO business.

You will have noticed that all the names are UK .

My only contact with any American investigators was with Bud Hopkins at a conference in Sheffield. Real nice guy.

...and I am looking for answers...

As we all are.

GWB's by-line was...

The truth is out there.
