I find it odd these appear after the image goes from a clear bright scene to less bright, dull and reduced contrast. There are also vertical bars present. Is camera now in shadow? What caused that change?

I find that more interesting then the 3 blips of lights at the moment. My opinion is that one needs to understand why that scene image changed first. You're never going to get an answer as to what those lights are except if they have a mundane cause (won't please everyone) or it's a mystery of something unknown. We can at least try to determine the scene change and hopefully learn from it especially if related to the lights.

You have any opinion on this?

It looks like lightning down below on Earth to me. I watch Ustream ISS quite a bit and see it on a regular basis.

Thanks for the info and link Cliff.
Interesting. So the camera is pointed towards earth? It's difficult at times to get all details about some of these videos. I'm not too up to speed on the ISS and the camera coverage. One would think it's important enough to be mentioned. Is the video poster even aware of this possibility? Someone posts something and maybe a key piece of useful information is omitted leaving viewers to think they are looking out to space. undecided

I don't know if that's the case here but if the camera is pointed towards earth it adds more to the list of possible earthly causes. Something to learn from and consider going forward.

BTW, there's not much action on that live feed at the moment. It's like watching the Yule Log video at Christmas. laugh I wonder how many watch it 24/7 looking for the occasional strange object, light, etc.? Actually I now see on a static image that just went up when there's loss of signal a rod shaped light, some orbs and halos while the camera is pointed towards the earths horizon with the sun up high. Typical of flare and internal lens reflections.

Dolf, here's some info from the live feed page since you asked about orbit speed:

Live video from the International Space Station includes internal views when the crew is on-duty and Earth views at other times. The video is accompanied by audio of conversations between the crew and Mission Control. This video is only available when the space station is in contact with the ground. During "loss of signal" periods, viewers may see a test pattern or a graphical world map that depicts the stationís location in orbit above the Earth. Since the station orbits the Earth once every 90 minutes, it experiences a sunrise or a sunset about every 45 minutes. When the station is in darkness, external camera video may appear black, but can sometimes provide spectacular views of lightning or city lights below.

Note the last sentence.
